Abstract
This study aims to analyze a training process on the Scaffolded Reading Experience linked to cinema. It was developed with elementary and secondary teachers and undergraduates in biological sciences, chemistry, mathematics, and physics courses, at a federal institute of education, science and technology in southern Brazil. Eighty undergraduate students and ten Pedagogical Residency Program mentor teachers participated in this qualitative approach action research. We use questionnaires and semi-structured interviews as research instruments. The collected data was analyzed using content analysis. Thus, it was found that the training process enabled diversifying pedagogical practices through a practical activity in which it was possible to integrate scientific content with cinema, while also allowing participants to understand the potential of associating cinema with the Scaffolded Reading Experience in the school context.
