Abstract
The objective of this research was to demonstrate how teaching and learning practices in Basic Education can be re-signified through the application of active methodologies. To do so, a literature review was used with a time frame of the last five years, with analysis in a qualitative approach, basic nature and exploratory objective. The results pointed out that active methodologies favor the transformation of school culture with a new perspective of re-signification of the teaching practices of teachers in Basic Education, enabling the development of skills and abilities of the student from concrete and relevant experiences for the (re)construction of knowledge. It is concluded, therefore, that the inclusion of an active learning culture breaks with the traditional teaching model and gives new meaning to the teaching process, transforming learning into practical situations in the convention of knowledge and sharing of possibilities.
