The school-museum connection from the point of view of teachers and museum educators Brazil – France comparison

Abstract

The school museum connection has been discussed in academic research in both educational and museum education fields. About school visits, different views and approaches from teachers and museum educators sometimes conflict. This article discusses part of the results of a study that sought to understand the vision of these actors and find converging points for establishing dialogical relationships that optimize these pedagogical moments. Relying on research and experts from the field and data produced by interviews and questionnaires, we found arguments and expectations from teachers and educational mediators, which, if shared, can help school visits become experiences that are pleasant and full of meaning for teachers, mediators, and, above all, children.
