Abstract
This article aims to understand how childhood popular games are remembered by the elderly in the district of São Felipe, in Brejo Santo – CE. Based on qualitative approach methodological principles, it adopts the Oral History method, relying on semi-structured interviews with six participants and analyzing them through content analysis. The results highlight that, in addition to representing moments of leisure and socialization, childhood popular games reflect sociocultural dynamics shaped by gender and generational markers. In this sense, there is a need for educational interventions that recognize such games as community ludic-cultural heritage, using the memories of the elderly as a resource for their preservation and/or problematization.
