Abstract
Young people have gone unnoticed in society for a long time, and those living in the countryside have been almost invisible. This study starts from the following research question: How do young people from the countryside in the municipality of Guanambi-Bahia think and/or develop their life projects? The work sought to analyze the life projects of rural young people in this municipality to understand the factors that influence them in times of uncertainty. Regarding the staying in the country, the study showed that the factors that influence the idealization of life projects of the young people interviewed in the study are of emotional nature. It is expressed by the desire to form a family and invest in countryside, close to loved ones. On the other hand, aspects such as the lack of employment and public policies, as well as the difficult access to essential services such as health, education and leisure are factors that make them want to leave the countryside for the urban area.
