Abstract
This article addresses sexual violence in childhood and adolescence in the school environment as a secular and universal means of discussion, training and combat on the subject. In this way, the work reports an exploratory research from the historical precedents of antiquity to the contemporaneity, which was systematized in an integrative review from the quali-quantitative analysis of the expressions of violence and related technologies and their subgenres reported by Neves, Leão, Ribeiro, among others. Several scientific and journalistic articles - published between 2003 and 2023 - were analyzed in the context of sexual violence and the protagonism of educational institutions. In this article, the authors argue that education can be a means of preventing sexual violence in childhood and adolescence, emphasizing the importance of sex education in the curriculum of schools from Elementary to High School. In this sense, it is concluded from the data analysis that sexual violence is a persistent secular problem and, in Brazil, it is far from being resolved.
