Abstract

The work in question presents a reflective discussion on commonly addressed issues within the realm of Inclusive Education. Across its six chapters, Eglér Mantoan and José Eduardo de Oliveira Evangelista Lanuti delve into crucial topics for the establishment of a genuinely inclusive school. Initially, they discuss student representations in schools, highlighting the problem of labeling and its implications for inclusion. They then explore interpretations of disability, contrasting medical and social views. Additionally, they examine the exercise of power in schools, influenced by Michel Foucault's theory, and propose transformations in evaluative and pedagogical practices to promote genuine inclusion. They conclude by emphasizing the need for a school that surpasses the limitations of the current educational system and promotes the inclusion of all students, reaffirming this as the true aspiration of education.
